Start of 2009-2010 sketchbook

It hasn't stopped snowing yet, so I am trapped in the house for a while, an advantageous position for someone who hasn't updated her blog.
This post begins my 11th grade sketchbook. I have mixed feelings about this one. The good stuff is okay and everything else is, well, meh.

I don't have enough brain power today to make up captions. Sorry!

Art Day

I've been having a very busy, very social week. I wonder what's wrong?
Today I had an art day with one of my best friends. This entails eating pancakes, watching Star Trek, talking about any number of subjects, and not doing any art. T'was fun.

Sketches. Character to note: Skyler. His helmet is supposed to look like an eagle head, with the "eyes" being actual optics. Yup.

One of the only pictures I drew when I was in Florida. It was my first trip, and only so far, to that state.

Accel, drawn on the airplane ride home.

...I don't know?

Pardon the floating shoe. The horses were done in marker and then washed with a brush.

Good Ride

Today was pretty relaxing. I'm making good time studying for my "new" Biology final, which is very encouraging. I got to go take the wee-man (Willie) for a walk. He was very good, like usual.
Awww! *insert baby talk*
I then took my friend's new horse for a spin. Poor little me, I failed completely at mounting up. You know what's harder to fail at? Dismounting. Yup, failed that too XD   I had a nice ride, though. It definitely made me realize how spoiled I'm becoming by riding Dama (the Icelandic Horse). You know what? Have a picture of her too.
I'm feeling generous today!
The weather quickly turned from overcast to snowing to crap, so here I am, tucked away in my little corner trying to stay warm and avoid any semblance of "work".

Whatever the weather, I am devoting tomorrow morning to art. I might share some of my art-attack with you, if I'm not feeling to lazy to scan in some stuff.

Pictures:
Rather unfortunately, it seems that my scanner particularly dislikes colored pencil :(  The colors of this floaty-head thing are much more vivid in person.

Edward Elric, from Full Metal Alchemist. The proportions of the face are off a bit, but when I remember how proud I was of this picture, the feeling stays and my criticism flies out the window.

I have to do some more of these chaos pages. I find that they are a very nice exercise for refining ideas. Even the doodles help!

The inner-workings of the human ear, because I was a very strange 15 year-old.

Ouroboros. Wondering what's in the center? Call me when you find out; I'd like to know too!
That's it for tonight. I'll have to scan in a surplus of pictures so I can continue to update when I head to the States.

200 chickens

THAT is a lot of KFC.
Yes, that's true. However, I was eating feeding my neighbor's chickens for her while she was gone. The first day sucked, the second day was slightly better, and by the third day I finally had a routine down.
Today... today was different.
I entered the barn through the dairy. The lights were on.
"Huh," I thought to myself, "that's strange. But no biggie. Carrying on!"
So I wandered into the main part of the very dark barn, and tried to find the power strip that controls the lights. Well find it I did, much, much higher than I left it, and, being 5'2, it is not generally in my best interest to put things up where I can barely reach them! I pressed the button, voila, the lights go on. But so does the milk hose!
I turned the freakin' thing off before something could have happened, which meant, of course, that the lights went off, too. I stood still to let my eyes adjust.
All was silent.
I turned.
She scared the hell out of me! ;-;
Apparently my neighbor had come home this morning, and my mom failed to inform me of her arrival. Anyone who knows me well knows that I can be a little jumpy sometimes. I'm just glad I don't have any super powers, because kid, I'm tellin' ya, she would have been toast before I'd even register who it was!

Okay, on to the pictures!
That horse is making me want to use versatile wax sticks crayons again.

Hippo-face and purple hair guy.

Accel and cool pose guy.

The left side creeps me out o.O  The right side is kind of cool, though!

Wall climbing to practice a bird's eye view.
Yarp.

Start of the mini book

This little sketchbook is maybe 3"x3" big. It had a life span of about 8 days, starting on December 11, 2007. It was just the right size to carry in my pencil case, so everywhere I went at school it was by my side.

Zero again. It doesn't show as nicely here, but the pencil lines are very nice and crisp. :)

Dragon-horse-thing, and a ... self-portrait? I remember exactly what hoodie that is, too. (Red McGill hoodie)

Green eyes (crayon) and funky highlighter page.

Cat and horse. They have a similar expression... wonder how I was feeling that day?

That cat is what I sign pictures with. Also, a scratchy X. YEAH!

Ohohoho! What's this? Doodle pages that aren't several years old? Man, I'm good to you guys o.o

Faces. Lots and lots of faces.

The only reason that I will miss my biology course is because it is very easy to creep on people for drawing practice. Yup.

Some Doodles!

Here are the doodles of the day, featuring your friendly neighborhood Zelloman.
Exactly, Zero. Exactly. (Chem class)

Rather pleased with this one. 3/4 view is difficult, especially with a pointy helmet :} (Chem)

Procrastination

Hi again! Double update today because I am procrastinating. That's right folks. That 9 page paper can just freakin' wait, because I am lazy.
So here we go:
No clue. Yeah.

This cat is holy sh*t actually realistic. Cool.

Oh ho ho. It's Zero. Everybody watch out.

This was drawn one beautiful morning in the cottage.

As a treat, have some lazy doodles that I did during my Global Issues seminar today. Sponsored by inattentiveness and 6 hours of sleep.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

Yup.

Mmhmm.
Meh. Now for some paper writing! Hooray!
